So Fleur

A mixologist is preparing his famous mocktails, providing an astonishing backdrop to the energetic hustle of the operation for all tonight's guests. And above all this buzz, there is a swinging piece watching the whole place, silently in its greatness.

The story

From the beginning, our client had a clear idea that the main star of this entire project should be the component itself. That's why we came up with a unique shape that we call The Swing. It is a perfect and original shape in every way, depicting rhythm, movement, swinging and kinetics. The component is seemingly all twisted and turned and feels dynamic even though it remains static. The overall composition of the installation only emphasizes this concept.

The production of the glass part was complicated, precisely because of its shape. To prototype it, we tried several variations using 3D printing, and the mold itself, into which the resulting shape was blown, had to be made from 4 separate sections in order to remove the glass part.

The form

The installation consists of 318 twisted components of hand-blown art glass. Each piece is produced in a length of 205 mm, in a combination of clear glass with metal coating. We produce glass components in our glass factory in the Czech Republic using the traditional method of blowing into a 4-part metal mold.

The place

Our installation rises like a fragile roof over the central bar of SO. Fleur fine dining restaurant in Riyad, Saudi Arabia. The founder of the restaurant, Princess Sora Saud, wanted the restaurant to be a place you just don't want to leave from. Where you can find inspiration and dwell in its beauty. It was our effort to emphasize this feeling with our centerpiece light object.
